My Beastly Brother

There are lots of things this beastly brother does to annoy his younger brother. After all, there are games that involve poison ivy and hide-and-shriek! But beastly or not, this big brother is not as mean and tough as he seems. Laura Leuck's frolicking rhyme about a sibling relationship is matched perfectly with Scott Nash's awfully fun illustrations.

My Beastly Brother was fantastic! I could really relate to the book because I too have an older brother that used to pick on me constantly, but whenever I needed him, he was always there for me. I thought that it was funny with all the animations and how the monsters were having nightmares about humans. I think that it is a wonderful children's book because it had rhyming, rhythm, and the pictures were very graphic, and the pictures could tell the story without even having to look at the words.

Read this book for our first day of the Halloween theme in Pre-K. However our discussion at the book turned into feelings as I asked questions like, "was this brother very nice to the younger brother?" "How would you feel if someone spit spiders out at you?"

The illustrations were cute and the author did a very cute job!

One of my favorite sub-genre of children’s books is children’s books about monsters or monster children. A funny story about a monster big brother, with excellent artwork.

This little monster has a brother who is mean to him sometimes, but he cares for his little brother when the chips are down (looking for humans under the bed). I liked the message of even if your siblings do mean things to you, they can show you they care in other ways.

This one struck a chord for Ethan, I'm afraid, but maybe that's a good thing (it's hard being the younger sibling, I mean). If you like the silly monster stuff in My Monster Mama, you'll like this.

Fun story about a beatly brother who torments (including putting ants in underwear) but then really shows his love for his brother.
