I kind of like these gentle dated romances of Betty Beaty. Im becoming familiar with her trope. Its the usual Captain Stewardess romance. That must have been a thing in the day, and she does go on about the training or flight procedure.

Anyway as is her norm, the young innocent heroine straight from the country wants to be a stewardess so she goes for an interview, She is very nervous and feels that one of the panelists, Captain Prentice (H) has been particularly hard on her. Nevertheless, she gets in and proceeds to go to training. Whenever she encounters Captain Prentice, either in training or when she is a new flight attendant, she is always caught making a mistake or committing an error of judgement. This makes her resentful of Captain Prentice. The Captain himself, is a bit of a perfectionist, but this stands him in good stead at the end.

They go on in this manner, and of course we never get the H POV, there are some faint clues that he could be interested in her but it's very subtle. There is a slight misunderstanding between them as he is under the impression that she is committed to another guy, and she constantly hears gossip that he is in love with a beautiful girl.

He finally confesses his feelings and they have their HEA. Lost a star since it was so abrupt.
