On Thanksgiving, Grandma caught me looking through Grandpa’s bookcase and encouraged me to take one. I was looking for a wintery western when this one caught my eye. I would have liked talking to Grandpa about the stories in here. What he knew, what he learned, what he thought, what firefighting stories of his own he would add. I miss talking books with him. I’m gonna make Dad read and talk about it.
