Betty, a young nurse, fell in love with her RAF patient, Harry, in a hospital in North Yorkshire during WW2. Torn apart by Harry's sudden transfer to the Far East, the romance of the newly-weds was almost thrown to the vultures. To keep the love alive Harry began writing a letter every day to his 'dearest and sweetest wifey' Betty. To the credit of Royal Mail most of the letters arrived safely at both ends, despite a viscous war taking place on land, sea, and in the air. This book is the story told in Harry's letters.
