I am the author of three books now. My new book is titled "Brooklyn Raised / Livin' Upstate"
My new book is another memoir, but this one is different. In my book I share what it was like for me growing up in Brooklyn, NY. I share what it was like for me to move after I got married and raise a family. Last I share about the loss of my mom. My book has been written in three parts. Part 1: Growing up in Brooklyn Part 2: Living in the Country Part 3: Good - Bye Mom
My readers will get to know me better while reading my new memoir. I also have two other books about my miscarriages which you can read below"
I am the author of Miscarriages My Story. (This is my second edition)
Also the author of Marriages & Miscarriages:One Woman's Personal Experience. (This is my first edition)
In my book I explain how I got through my 3 miscarriages and how I used them to make my marriage stronger. Yes, it is possible to use your miscarriages to make your marriage stronger. My hope is that my book will be able to help other women who have gone through their own miscarriages or are going through them. I also hope to be able to help their husbands get through them too. Yes, husbands hurt emotionally too.
In the second edition of my book you will be able to read all of the above plus a new chapter that I titled "Why Me?" . In this chapter I did my best to answer that question when it comes to having a miscarriage. I also changed the last chapter a little.
A Must Read for Women Who Have Had to Deal With the Struggle Between Love and Loss...
Marriages and Miscarriages was a beautiful account of one women's journey through the emotional wreckage that is left after suffering a miscarriage. She goes into detail about the trials that not only she went through, but her husband as well and what they did to overcome their grief. Through her relationship with God and her husband she is able to grow not only as a person, but as wife, a mother, and a Christian. This is definitely a must read for anyone that is struggling to overcome grief not only from a miscarriage, but the loss of any loved one.
In Marriages and Miscarriages Kathleen Smith bravely shares her experience with miscarriages with all of us. I loved how the introduction to this book was written by her husband. It was a nice touch that showed support for sharing their six children (three here and three up above) and their experience with others in an effort to show that it is possible to move forward and grow in love and peace after such a difficult time. Kathleen talks about how important talking with her husband was for her (and his) healing after their losses.
What I loved about this book was that Kathleen shared how important it was for her to talk to God, too. As much as one tries to talk to their spouse in an effort to share and receive support during such a hard time for both of them, there are times when it just doesn't work the best. Sometimes the other spouse just doesn't listen or put in the effort to show support. Partly because they don't understand and also because they are trying to figure out what to do with their own feelings. This book is a nice reminder that whether one is able to talk with their spouse or not that...they are not alone. God is with them, too. He is there to listen and guide. To carry you.
Well done, Kathleen. Thank you for sharing your angel babies with the world. Glad to have a resting place for your book on my nightstand.
The idea of this book is wonderful. There is some good advice within the pages of this book. I would recommend it to any grieving Mom, woman, girl , wife or husband. It's good to relate to the situation, knowing that what you would be thinking, or did in a similar situation other's have lived through too.
