How sweet to discover I encountered this loveable author when I was small! I whisked a Norman Bridwell baby's book from a store's discard stairs two years ago. Board books about animal words and sounds aren't universal. Norman's took a fresh tack, as simple as it was, with an emotionality I savoured instantly. I loved reading about how Clifford the red dog came to be, jointly via his wife and daughter. He had just died at eighty-six years-old. Neighbours companionably sought autographs for books they gifted.
This spring, my Mom produced books that were tucked away. Cleaning is facilitated decades earlier, if family knows you archived belongings we could claim decades earlier! It is better than sifting history in a time limit. I kept books, dolls, teddy bears, papers I knew of since I was at least ten. They have quadrupled. I loved finding this older child's book by Norman: “The Cat And The Bird In The Hat”, 1968. Was I swept away by the baby's book because something registered about the style? I know this is mine, with a different, familiar cover because I adore animals.
The content is silly, with worthwhile sweetness and camaraderie. Norman's thickly-lined, cartoon drawings really enhance his story. By interesting artistic contrast to vivid expressiveness, the backgrounds are nearly blank. They are embellished via a few lines that convey enough: a tree, a fence, a garbage can. The significance of actions and what is surely a trademark of positive feelings, comes through in simple sentences too. A child encourages a cat and bird to share this titular hat. Evading a dog yields a great team, like a hotdog for the cat and bun for the bird. I merely hope the lining is closed and that the bird's habitat is not on the cat's head.

Picture Book. This book is very clever and goofy. It involves two characters, a cat and a bird who resemble a friendly, long lasting friendship. This book provides a great example to young readers, and would be a good book to do a lesson of predication on. Due to the fact its mostly pictures, the children will be able to use their visual comprehension skills and practice predication while reading the book out loud. The book is about the cat who wears the hat daily, but the bird lives inside of the hat. The cat likes to go different directions then the bird, he likes to go right while the bird likes to go left. Eventually they work out their issues and learn how to help each other out so they can both enjoy the hat. Their friendship grows from this experience.
