Treasured Hungarian Family Recipes™ 1 is the first cookbook from Canadian cookbook author and Life Magazine spokesperson Helen M Radics featured on CTV News, Life Network, by Life Magzine. The author will take you on a journey through Hungary's sometimes turbulent, history rich culinary world.
Hungarian food has always fascinated people regardless of their background. The mouth-watering Hungarian Goulash and fiery Chicken Paprikash has been the topic of conversations around the dinner table for generation.
Treasured Hungarian Family Recipes™ 1 will show you how to prepare such national treasures as Hungarian Goulash, Hungarian Goulash Soup, Hungarian Fish Soup, Hungarian Chicken Paprikash, and of course what collection of Hungarian heritage recipes would be complete without Cabbage Rolls, which are not made with tomato paste, but the traditional Hungarian way, with Hungarian Red Paprika powder.
The book will also share with you the secret of such old-world desserts as the regal Dobos Torte, Eszterhazy Torte, Sacher Cake and Hungary's answer to Walnut Roll, for which the author is the official Life Magazine spokesperson.

Wow, what drama. As I gather, another cookbook author has created a false account to say bad things about this author's work or this person's family also ganged up on this lady. Shame, because they should be proud that more and more people are interested in Hungarian cooking and creating cookbooks should not be the privelege of one particular author. Curiosity made me purchase these books, because my belief is that if the competition says something bad about another's work, usually it is because they feel threatened by the other's work. So here it goes. This book bar far, is my favorite of the 6 I got. It has coloured photos, lot of history about Hungary and Hungarian cooking. Nothing bad to say about it. I should also add that the author Helen M Radics also has a Youtube channel called hrcsidaranoli where she teaches people how to cook Hungarian dishes. She does this for free and those recipes are from her cookbooks, so she doesn't make people buy her books to know about Hungarian food but tells them if they like her dozens of free recipes they could also buy her books. That's great and in my book she's the victor of these cookbook wars. Great job Ms. Radics, keep on going.
Purchased these books out of curiousity. Sadly, after going through the recipes and the directions, have serious issues with them all (5) Many recipes are copied from other websites and food photos are lifted as well. Even the titles I have seen elsewhere: Secret of Hungarian Cooking, Flavours of Hungary by Charlotte Biro, Rhapsody of Recipes and Treasured Family by William Penn. 1958. This is so very sad. Cookbooks are supposed to be works of original creation. The low rating is for lack of originality and disrespect for copyright.
