A bit hard to get into at first, and some of the music theory bits went over my head. There were moments when I really liked Helwig’s writing style, but also others when it felt pretentious. I wish we got more of Nancy and her journey — I’m not exactly sure what I’m supposed to take away from her ending. Three stars mostly because I liked how the story weaved skillfully back and forth between characters’ perspectives and the past/present.

it was a story of depression and lost opportunities, search for father but not wanting to meet him.
After about 1/2 of the book I did not care how it continues.
