My Review: School is out and the summer holiday has begun. What best way to keep your children active than the Summer Fit Workbooks. The Summer Fit workbooks range from P-K to 5th Grade Levels. The activities and exercises in Summer Fit will take just 20-30 minutes a day to complete. Each day offers a simple and fun routine that reinforces skills not only in reading, math, language arts, and physical fitness plus a weekly core value, but basic history and geography as well.

I have never come across a workbook that incorporates reading, writing, math with fitness and nutrition. The daily fitness program consists of 2 Aerobic days, 2 Strength days and 1 Sport day.

The books are appropriate for each grade level, focusing on basics that will keep students involved with different activities and keep them ahead when school starts.

If you are looking for something to keep your child active this summer, then SUMMER FIT would be something to consider. Summer Fit is the exercise book for your child’s brain and body while they are away from school. The activities are interesting, fun and educational. Like the book says, “prepare children mentally, physically and socially for the grade ahead!”

Summer Fit is the most comprehensive summer workbook and as a former teacher I highly recommend them.

Ages: 5 and up

I have never seen a workbook like this that incorporates reading, writing, math, fitness, nutrition and values all together for an entire summer. Each day the student has approx 30 minutes of work to stimulate their mind and body. Fun exercises for strength building, aerobics, and sports exercises and interspersed throughout the week. The intro to the book gives you explanations of the various exercises and stretches. They are geared toward children with names like Moon Touches and Fly in the Ointment. A great way for parents to get some stretching in with the children to model having an active lifestyle.

I felt that the work was appropriate for the grade level, just giving a basic review of the grade that the student has just graduated from. Not overwhelming with pages of book work, just a front and back page for each day. I loved how day 5 has a person in history or from today who exhibits a value to be learned, and discusses how that person showed a value such as kindness, respect or courage. There is a list of picture books to go along with the Value study as well. Additional games and activities can be found online to go with that weeks study.

The books go well together in that the different grades still share the same value each week, and the exercises are similar so that several grades of students can do them together.

The hard part is going to keep the kids from doing too many days at one time as I think they are really going to enjoy this summer review!
