A useful (though paper-based) companion to Dr Nelson's other books, such as "Strong Women Stay Slim". She makes the sound argument that weight training is critical to fitness and health maintenance for women. She guides the reader through each day of the year with prompts for recording journal entries on exercise, nutrition and mood, which are all proven factors in weight management. Even a few weeks of logging these data points can help someone just starting out. More advanced users of such tools will want to use online resources that calculate weekly and monthly totals, calories and graphs, such as livestrong.com/thedailyplate.com.
