Divided into two parts, ornamental and economic plants, this one had a decidedly anthropocentric theme. Would have preferred a more ecological view point and organization. There were almost 300 color plates/photos depicting most of the plants described, but they were sandwiched in the middle of the book instead of accompanying each species. I suppose this had to do with the economics of printing and publication cost, but it was a tad inconvenient to reference. Otherwise the descriptions themselves were quite adequate, and the coverage sufficiently broad to be a useful quick guide.
