This book covers absolutely essential Pacific Northwest history, which was both fascinating and infuriating to learn about. While I think it's important for people living in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana to learn about, this book was impressively dry and fairly difficult to read. It helps that over half of the book is actually sources / bibliography, but the 100 or so pages of actual content may be less accessible to some readers. At the very least, I would highly encourage reading the conclusion of the book, pages 103 - 108.

his first - and easily driest - there's some interesting stuff here, but it'd be better to just skip it and stick to Jensen's central trilogy (Language Older Than Words, Culture Of Make Believe, and Endgame)

Dry but interesting. This was well researched and read like a scholarly article. I wish it were more accessible (style wise) because it covers an important topic that affects everyone.
