Love can be detrimental to your life! At least, that's the case with Samantha Kensington, a rookie cop with the Seattle Police Department, and in secret, the invincible Slayer.
Strong and memorable characters, plenty of action, comical heroine and situations, and all the mystery and twists and turns you can handle. This is an action-packed paranormal romance about a young woman who's secretly a vampire slayer, or Slayer Maiden, and who's invincible except for one weakness: her heart.
Things get complicated for her when, after losing five partners, she's faced with possible suspension, but then luck has her teamed up with the handsome and mysterious Detective Julien Chateau. She soon discovers that the blessing is a curse in disguise when she finds herself slowly falling in love with him.
As Slayer Maiden, Samantha is invincible, but the source of her superior supernatural power is housed in her heart, and if she allows herself to fall in love, she diminishes that power and with the enemies out there to get her, this could prove to be deadly for her.

HOLY SH*T.
First of all the opening scene is such a powerful, compelling
component to the story. It evoked emotions I didn't know
I was capable of having. I picked this up simply 'cause
I googled 'Catharina Shields.'
I AM SO GLAD I DID.
The characters are dynamic and Samantha is such a kicka$$
female. The kind of woman I'd like to be.
Nonetheless the story IS a romance.
Sometimes I felt like it was an action book but then
there are those beautifully written love scenes
that remind me, HEY THIS IS A ROMANCE. haha
And the chapter one teaser of the sequel made me wish
the second of the series was already available.
So let me explain my emotions through the story:
'OMG WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! WHO IS DEY?!'
'Oh he sounds cute ;)'
'DID HE REALLY JUST DO THAT?!?!?!?'
'ME WANT SEQUEL!'
I'm not a writer and I'm definitely not capable
of writing a review with everything it deserves.
But Catharina, can I just say you've outdone yourself?
I really want to help promote this book but
I'm new at all this so I'm gonna see if there are
people who will help me.
