The most comprehensive coverage of computer concepts, reflecting the latest in technology. Appropriate for a full-semester course, with or without a hands-on lab.
Peter Norton (born November 14, 1943) is an American programmer, software publisher, author, and philanthropist. He is best known for the computer programs and books that bear his name. Norton sold his PC software business to Symantec Corporation in 1990.
It is a very large book but it is completely full of relevant discussions with its name. As a non-technical person, if he reads this huge book first, he will understand what a computer is. How does a computer work? Input/output system, OS, apps, programming language, web, internet, networking, etc.
The book gives a very nice introduction to computers. Peter Norton have efficiently explained the basics of computer but the book was old and thus it cannot explain about multi-core processors. Overall the book is very informative.
