Summary: This nonfiction picture book is all interesting facts of the human body! It is an encyclopedia of lesser known facts about things like the human heart, blood, skin, your senses, joints, bones, the nervous system, our bodie's response to sleep, ect. The way the book is organized is that there are a lot of pictures with different groupings of facts around them and all have to do with a similar topic. There is an index at the back for easy access. It is very informational and not organized like a narrative.
My Thoughts: I thought that this book was very dated, so for a picture book I noticed that a lot more. The fashion choices of the people photographed and the quality of the pictures sometimes was a little off-putting. There were a lot of really cool facts though and it was organized really well where I learned a lot about everything related to the heart, then would move on to know about the senses. It was more enagaging to read these facts in a picture format.
Classroom Usage: This would be a great book for an Anatomy unit. It has a lot of interesting facts, so I would split the book up throughout the week depending on what part of the body we were learning that day. Then I would have them write their favorite fun fact and draw a picture that went along with it.
