As my concentrative abilities for reading decrease with each passing day (my wedding day is rapidly approaching), picture books are becoming more and more appealing. This book did not disappoint!
Some of the speculations and discussions are outdated since the book was published in 1994, but further research is a simple solution when questions arise. I think it is interesting to see the scientific convictions and questions at the time this book was written and to compare those with current times.
The photographs, scientific explanation, and historical descriptions of natural disasters rendered this reading experience worthwhile. And, as long as human beings continue to live on this planet, the discussion of risk will remain relevant!
A very good book packed full of photographs and information about natural disasters. The text is written in such a way as to be easily understood by non-scientists.
