Very amazing overview of the Vedanta tradition give in a collection of short speeches. Having only every really been familiar with Abrahamic religions, this gives an incredible insight into the thoughts/sentiments behind a completely different philosophy of Vendatism which formed the basis for Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and far beyond. Topics included the theory of Monism, meditation as a constant exercise, the purpose of ritualism and of God-men, and the path to/meaning of enlightenment. The most interesting thing I took from this book is that unlike the majority of other religions, Vedantists don't care much if at all about converting people. They believe that you are repeatedly incarnated and whenever the time is right for you you will end up in the life of a deeply spiritual persona and ultimately realise the oneness of yourself with God (the state of illumination).
