* Hardcore .NET solutions for advanced, distributed financial applications. * Fascinating insight into operation of Equity markets and the challenges this poses for technology solutions – you do not have to be an equity market insider to use this book. * Examines next generation trading challenges, and potential solutions using .NET 2.0 and emerging technology, such as Avalon, Indigo and Longhorn.
I read this book less for the .Net aspects and more for an overview / insight into the world of backend financial software.
The authors do a good job of explaining the business requirements and context for all the decisions they make before jumping into any code. As the book was written for .Net 1.1 it's a bit dated in the technology for some areas but still definitely worth a read just to get a grounding in the sort of components that exist in financial market software.
