About the author

Neil Fletcher has been an enthusiastic naturalist and photographer since childhood. He began his career in the photographic department at London's Natural History Museum, and spent six years managing nature reserves in southeast England. Currently a freelance writer and illustrator, he lectures on ecological management and contributes to numerous books and magazines on environmental and natural history subjects.
