Ever since I heard my first fairy tale, I've always believed in happily-ever-after and the power of love. In my opinion, there's nothing quite as heart-warming as the happy ending for a hero and heroine who overcome the odds. Sometimes love isn't easy, but then anything in life that is, well, it just isn't much fun, now is it?

Looking for challenges in my life has been part of that fun, too. I embraced my first challenge at the age of sixteen when I married my high school sweetheart. A whole lot of years later, I still fondly recall the first time I saw my own personal hero and knew, even at that tender age, that he was the one for me. With a history like that, what else could I write except Romances?

When I'm not working on my latest novel, I enjoy relaxing with a cross-stitch project or debating the pros and cons of a redecorating project. I'm also a big movie fan, especially romantic comedies. Oh, and we can't forget about the joys of gardening. If I'm not playing in the dirt or haven't escaped with my own personal hero to the movie theater, I can usually be found in the house, somewhere warm, curled up with a romance novel in my hands.

A few years ago, my family and I exchanged the sun and sand of my native Southern California for the clear blue skies and wide open spaces of the North Dakota prairie. Oh, did I mention the snow we got in the bargain, too? A whole lot of it?

The first book I read by this author was The Matchmaker and I loved it. So I decided to try another mystery/suspense book by her. Remain Silent did not disappoint. My only disappointment with the book was that I felt the ending was rushed a bit. I don't feel like I got a thorough explanation of the whole "Institute" plot. It is discussed in the end of the book, but I personally felt like after all of the build up about it, the explanation was not suitable (I wanted more). I still feel the book is worth 5 stars since it was wonderfully written and as a reader you really got to know the characters - including the killer. The romance between Damon and Laurel was believable and the sacrifice she made for him years ago was understandable.

I've read the excerpts for her next book Dead Stop and I can't wait for it to come out. Jamie Denton really has found her niche with mystery/suspense/romance novels.

This is not a book I would have picked up on a library or bookstore foray. But a friend passed it on to me so I gave it a try. It wasn’t bad, nor was it great.

It was typical of this genre, a bit formulaic. The main character comes under attack by people who want to control her, kill her, or ruin her to keep their own sins hidden. And only her former lover is willing to stand with her against those enemies. And the climax was right out of the romantic suspense playbook – the heroine is capture by the guilty party.

I suspected the one bad guy (girl, in this case) early on. It was a bit too obvious to miss.

There was one major sub-plot that was never really resolved, just sort of tied off sloppily.

A warning for anyone picking up this particular edition of the book: the last 20 pages are preview chapters of other books by other authors from this publisher.

I struggled with this one. The whole book didn't seem to flow well for me. The two genres of romance and suspense just didn't mix well in this. Parts of it were good, but not all. Others might well like it...I didn't

This is not a book I would have been looking for in a store but it was a ok read. I felt like the book was all over the place, hard to follow at times but the story line was good but I felt it could have been written differently!

An interesting story of life friendships and betrayal. Some surprises, every one aren't as they seem. Sadly most could have been avoided by not remaining silent.

This book was entertaining; however there were some unanswered questions in the end. I thought it started out great, but kind of full apart at the end.
