I valued this book; perhaps because Raiter managed to highlight things that I too have been struggling to articulate in my Christian life and experience. Coming from the same type of background as his (conservative Anglican), this book is worth it's weight in gold purely for the last 2 chapters. Here he critiques our "tribe" and suggests better ways in which a Conservative Evangelical can think about spirituality, and it's expression.

I found the initial engagement with current trends (current as at 2003) slightly long and repetitive, though still helpful.

Who should read it? Leaders of conservative churches at the very least.
