I have had the great pleasure and privilege to have been on retreat with the author Virginia Ramey-Mollenkott. I recall listening to her share her story of becoming and knowing that I was in the presence of a giant. This book was quintessential in shifting my theology and shaping me into loving myself more and loving God and in so doing, loving my neighbor. This work is essential reading for the sojourner. I owe a debt I can never pay to the the author. This book takes a new breath of Spirit and examines scriptures that had been stolen and weaponized by the Christian-Right; Mollenkott- shatters the grip they held on scripture and powerfully blazes the path forward showing the scripture for what it is; inclusive for all.

This is an excellent look into one womans journey out from fundamentalism. I truly enjoyed her fresh perspectives on biblical interpretation as well as her ideas about the the usage of male pronouns to identify God.

An in depth look at the true fundamentals of scripture. This book is a breath of fresh air in an oftentimes stale club. Scholarly and thought provoking.
