Scoular Anderson was born in 1946 and brought up in Argyll. He studied at Glasgow School of Art, then worked in London as a illustrator.

This early chapter book has easy text broken up by comic-like illustrations complete with speech and thought bubbles. It also has a gentle story, some humor, and a plot kids can relate to, making it a great choice for young animal lovers who are transitioning from easy readers to chapter books.

Stan loses his collar and gets help from the cats. I liked this story.
