The American Battleship includes More than 200 photos, in-depth analysis of the American battleship's role in all major wars fought in the twentieth century, and a complete history, beginning with the Maine (commissioned in 1894), to the last four American battleships: the Iowa, the Missouri, the New Jersey, and the Wisconsin.
Standard coffee table fare. Many typos, text very confusing in several places, little coverage of the basics. Most detail provided for the modern (post WW II) era including extensive coverage of the minutia of mothballing politics. Virtually no mention of the role battleships play in combined fleet actions, etc. Lots of pretty pictures. Interesting, not compelling.
