A book adapted from an original blog, it follows my journey to and through motherhood. It documents the experiences I went through, and the way in which they changed me as a person.A no holds barred journey, through grief and motherhood, filled with heartache and emotion.Starting with a timid 18 year old, the journey goes through neonatal death and baby loss, through pregnancy complications, pregnancy after loss infertility and miscarriage. The journey continues as I navigated my way through motherhood and all of the obstacles we came across. This journey shaped me into the person and mother I am today. It ends with a completely changed woman. Now a natural term breastfeeding, dungaree clad, pink haired, rainbow loving, married mum of 4, trying to navigate the highs and lows of parenting, whilst riding the waves of grief and loss and trying to raise some awareness, break down taboos and encourage others to speak out about their experiences and support one another. It is not a magical tale of perfect births and fairy tale motherhood, in fact it couldn’t be further from that, but it’s MY story, MY journey, MY experiences, MY feelings…. things I never thought all those years ago that I would ever be confident enough to share with anybody. Now, several years past my darkest point, I am confident enough to put myself out there, and share some of the most personal and private moments, in the hope that someone may find hope in reading it.If by reading this book even one person feels less alone on their journey, then it will have all have been worth it, I will have achieved something and found something positive to come out of my journey.Let’s hold each other up, listen to those who need it, and share our experiences in the hope they will make a difference to somebody else.Motherhood really is a journey, the hardest yet most amazing one I have ever been on…
