Mindful Parenting: Meditations, Verses, and Visualizations for a More Joyful Life.

Rate this book
Mindful Parenting takes some of the mystery out of meditation, offering a collection of effective methods to connect more deeply to the present moment. The book’s short verses, meditation techniques, and visualizations are specially crafted to facilitate and add pleasure to the experience of becoming grounded in the here and now. You will find them to be interesting, memorable, and profound because they involve your child, with whom you share both a physical and spiritual connection. Written for parents and child-care givers of children of all ages, Mindful Parenting will help you to appreciate more deeply how your connection to your child, through the miracle of mindfulness meditation, can bring about deeper feelings of joy and aliveness. To enhance your ability to become more mindful, Mindful Parenting introduces the “Twelve Step Mind-Body Flow Exercise,” an easy to learn technique that will help you to transform everyday moments, which might otherwise pass unnoticed, into magical moments of expanded awareness. As a natural consequence of learning to enjoy an expanded awareness of your child’s presence, you develop a greater capacity to be present when you are with your child. This helps you become a better parent, a happier person, and a more vital human being.

This book helps you learn to speak from your heart to your child's heart. It teaches how to be open to the joy of simple life experiences. My favorite part is using the verses provided in the book. This is a good place to start if you are trying to be consistent with a regular meditation practice.
