2010 Ashrae Handbook: Refrigeration, I-P Edition
This reference covers the equipment and systems for applications other than human comfort, including information on cooling, freezing, and storing food; industrial applications of refrigeration; and low-temperature refrigeration. Primarily for the practicing engineer, this volume is also useful for anyone involved in cooling and storage of food products. An accompanying CD-ROM contains all the volume's chapters in both I-P and SI units. The edition includes two new chapters. Chapter 3, Carbon Dioxide Refrigeration Systems, describes the history of this ''natural refrigerant'' and why it is the subject of renewed interest today. Chapter 50, Terminology of Refrigeration, lists some of the common terms used in industrial refrigeration systems. Also new for this volume, chapter order and groupings have been revised for more logical flow and use. ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization of some 50,000 persons. ASHRAE fulfills its mission of advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing, and continuing education. The ASHRAE Handbooks are the design standard for control of built environments with volumes on Systems and Equipment, HVAC Applications, Refrigeration and Fundamentals. Each is updated every four years. In addition to publishing design guidance for engineers, architects, and facility managers, we also publish a series of texts for classroom use.
