This is a beautiful book in many different aspects. It is a must read for any Rasta who dreams of visiting the fatherland but has not yet the means to do so.

Neville Garrick traveled to spiritually important landmarks in Ethiopia where he photographed not only the man-made historic structures, but equally as important, he photographed and interviewed the persons living in those locations.

Neville's book is more than a typical travelogue. It is an overview of Ethiopia and Ethiopian history based on the Rastafari overstanding of spirituality and the meaning of the fatherland.

Neville is a trained artist and photographer, and therefore the quality of the photography is superb.

I read the book 11 years ago so I cannot recall vividly the contents now but I realize that Neville is an intelligent man. He was the Art Director of Bob Marley and the Wailers. I got to know through his book,“A Rasta’s Pilgrimage: Ethiopian Faces and Places”, that he had misunderstanding with the legend Bob Marley and the reason he got thrown out of the living quarters of “Tuff and Gong” in Jamaica.
