Affirms healthy interracial dating, marriage, and parenting for Christian family members, and creates a reference to equip professionals with biblical insights and practical tools for ministering to multiracial families.
I am so impressed with this book. I didn't expect it to be the way it is. Reading on racial issues is one of my pastimes and it only seemed right to pick this up. Amalgamation, miscegenation and all that comes with it is of great interest to me.
This book covers biblical grounds for interracial marriages, their social implications/problems/solutions and transracial adoption. But the part that I particularly enjoyed and has stuck with me was the chapter by Ken Ham. I've had a growing scepticism of the idea of 'race' but didn't know where to start researching. But, lo and behold, thanks to Dr Ham's explanation, I find that it has no biological reality whatsoever. I wonder why this is not common knowledge? Hitler, himself, knew race doesn't exist but consciously used it as a rhetorical ploy to gain influence. Hitler. Funny how that works, huh?
I really enjoyed this book. It is my inspiration for a potential spoken word piece I'm contemplating. It's beautiful to know humans are one "race" but come in different shades of melanin. Beautiful.
I have read books about Interracial Dating and Marriage in the past. What sets this book apart from the other books is that the subject is told from a Christian perspective that is balanced and biblically accurate. In the past, the Bible has been used to justify Racism to Interracial Dating and Marriage by Racists who are responsible for the misinformation that was the mindset for many years.
The authors are interracially married who don't sugarcoat nor romanticize the subject. They have interviewed other couples who tell the facts and helpful advice. I enjoyed reading this book and definitely want to read this book again soon.
For those who are seeking questions about Interracial Dating and Marriage and interested, I recommend this book instead of listening to Right Wing Conservatives and their ilk.
This book was a WONDERFUL view, from a Christian perspective, of how God has made us all equal. Many of our parents might have taught us that, until we bring home someone who doesn't look like us. I LOVED this book!
An excellent reference guide for interracial couples, their families and churches. Contributions from multiple authors on everything from the science of genetics (how did we get so different if we all come from Adam?) to emotional difficulties.
