John Ashley and his gang of bank robbers and bootleggers The slaying of the Duperrault family aboard the ketch Bluebell The kidnapping of heiress Barbara Jane Mackle The Adam Walsh murder that inspired TV's America's Most Wanted The Aileen Wuornos killing spree"
So far it looks like the author went to Wikipedia and then summarized what she read there about each case included in the book. Added: Well, it got better after the Ashley case, but still had some glaring errors where some good editing would have helped the authors. For example, in the section about Ted Bundy they allude to his murders at Florida State University, then call it the University of Florida, then Florida State again. Or, in the section on Danny Rolling they say the University of North Florida had, at the time, around 36,000 students, which it didn't and UNF had nothing to do with the Rolling case, except that it existed some 80 miles away in Jacksonville. In another area they refer to "Starke State Prison in Starke, Florida" as home of Florida's death row. There is no "Starke State Prison in Starke, Florida" and death row is at Florida State Prison in Raiford, FL near Starke.
This was pretty cool, I liked how each story was put in order of the year of its importance. I knew some of them from other books I've read or movies seen. I thought it was interesting to learn that some of the stories happened or the victims were from the town I currently live in!
