Jack Nadel is a business man. Now, he wants to be everyone's mentor by way of book. He has sought to put into paper his business knowledge into some simple, yet, easy to read format. In his opinion, these are true and tried ideas that have aided him in business. There are 100 in total. Mr Nadel, the author, writes each of his simple ideas, expounds on the idea and then provides an example or anecdote. The format is very accessible and easy to read. The information provided is clear and easy to internalize.

The best way to read this book is over time. Take each day to absorb a few nudgets of information per day. That is the way I read this book over the period of one month. Each day, I would read 2-3 of the ideas and think about them.

A lot of the basic ideas in this book are rather obvious yet, they need some repeating for some people's sake. Some may argue that this book is overly simple. Yet, sometimes we need to get back to the basics.

My one beef with the book is that some explanations were contrary to the basic idea. For example, idea number 2, "Self Motivation is the key to success and will achieve powerful results." Well, this is simple enough. The issue is that his explanation expands on the idea of self-sufficiency and achieving power from within. He rebuffs depending on outside forces to gives us a better standard of living. Yet, his example is about how his therapist obtain another degree and was more helpful to him. That is, and external force, on which he depended on by his own admission). This seems contrary to the basic idea.

The book is a good and easy ready that I recommend reading over time.

This is a pretty good book! An excellent collection of 100 tips from the collected business wisdom of Jack Nadel. As the author of my own collection of 100 tips via "100-Whats of Creativity" I'd like to think I have some personal insight into this type of book. I appreciate the fact that Nadel didn't just stop at the tip, but in majority of entries included some personal insight and the experience that lead him to this earned wisdom.

From the author bio I gleaned the fact Jack Nadel is now in his 80s and that explains why many of the examples feel a bit dated, and after the first 30 or so as the reader, I was hoping for a few more recent stories -- but that's kind of the point.

These bits of wisdom are timeless. They are as true now as they were during Nadel's years in business, and they'll still be true another 80+ years from now.

The worst thing I can point out about this book would be the cover -- get a better cover design and I'd give it a 4th star!”

This is probably an okay book for what it is, but for me it was not very useful. This is for entrepreneurs and other business people. When I got it, I thought it was more for personal self help.
