A suspenseful story of the vagaries of being a cop. Harry Borsh, a detective with LAPD has to worry not only about the criminals he's tracking down but also about his own. I thouroughly enjoyed reading the bool.

I have read enough of Connelly to say this is not one of his best. I am confused, some are saying this is his first book, I thought it was his third. Also I am not reading the series in sequence so that may have been the reason I did not like as well as the others. He does tell of two murders that are connected after several years of thinking the serial killer was killed by Harry. I will admit I was not able to see through the writers screen of the murderer. He is still one of the best mystery writers today despite my lack of enthusiasm for this book.

Heironymous Bosch!

That's who really runs this story!

I loved the suspense, twists and most of all Bosch's sarcasm- and humor.

First Harry Bosch novel and it reveals cases he has already completed in this book that are presented in later books. Interesting way to introduce future stories.
