Entrepreneurial Small Business with Online Learning Center PowerWeb Card
Entrepreneurial Small Business has one clear it’s the book about the types of businesses your students might actually start, not about becoming the next Michael Dell. Entrepreneurial Small Business accomplishes this goal by focusing on the practical applications and "how to" skills that have immediate relevance for students. Traditional beliefs and models in small business are discussed, as well as the latest findings and best practices from academic and consulting arenas. Each chapter includes Skill Modules, chapter-opening scenarios highlighting real small businesses, weblinks for enhancing student research, and extensive end-of-chapter material aimed at helping students put principles into practice. In addition, several unique chapters include "Paths to Part-Time Entrepreneurship" and " Lifeblood of the Business," which provide students with a clear vision of small business as it really is today.

A start-to-finish, high-level guide to opening and maintaining an entrepreneurial endeavor. Good introduction for the aspiring entrepreneur which provides a goodly amount of detail about brainstorming ideas, business plans, marketing plans, financial statements and more. Chapters in accounting and marketing are definitely not substitutes for good courses in those subjects, but will get you started and help you start a conversation with experts in those fields.
The text is a bit wordy; you may mutter, "Get to the point!" to yourself a few times. I think some of the paragraphs could have been stated more concisely through the use of charts and diagrams.
A final caveat: This book should be a supplement to work with an experienced mentor. The theory should inspire you to get your hands dirty and try it out in practice.
