Rate this book

With a handsome interior layout, and adorned with many beautiful photos and illustrations, it is a visually appealing and enticing book. It puts parents in touch with the soul of their unborn child. It outlines a series of exercises that develop their ability to tune in to the developing being and connect on deep and intuitive levels with the child. It presents a comprehensive yet simple series of exercises to put parents solidly in touch with the baby. Communing With the Spirit of Your Unborn Child is also an inspirational book. With lyrical prose, it sets forth the mission of the babies that are being born today, the vanguard of a generation of people that will bring great changes to society (currently the subject of a major new motion picture The Indigo Children). This new gift edition is completely updated and revised to speak to a new generation of parents who are more spiritually aware than ever before.

The main portion of this book are the meditation exercises for pregnancy, which were detailed and thorough. I also liked that he included some spiritual info regarding fetal development, parenting, and relationships, too. Overall this was a good read if you’re interested in conscious conception and a spiritual pregnancy journey!

Writer/editor Church (The Heart of Healing) here lightly revises and expands the previous edition of this book (1988), providing considerate, uplifting how-to advice for prospective parents who feel "the time in utero is a marvelous, sacred opportunity" for familialcommuning bonding. Though suffused with supernaturalism (e.g., "newborns are a gift to us from the stars"), the textual passages seem secondary to the eight meditative exercises that anchor the book and 12 additional "Radiance Meditations," which direct "life current" into the chakra points and other special areas .These elaborate yet capably constructed exercises lead individual readers on very personal journeys that focus on visualizing and developing the energy and love between parent and child. Recommended as an alternative to mainstream titles (e.g., Heidi Murkoff & others' What To Expect When You're Expecting).
