As an adopter/believer of Jungian thoughts and MBTI, reading the book help me to come to terms with the differences I have with my culture and environment. In addition, if I get to meet them, it will help me to understand them according to their personality types so that we can focus on our commonalities than our differences without imposing on them the way they did to me.
Since the book is about aging creatively and living with it, it also helps me to put the notion of death in perspective and to live/love in the present moment; that is whatever kind of positive emotions received will be reciprocated in the present without thinking too far or more than the immediate (especially when work is concern since I am never actually working and continuous learning is a joy that continues to give and rewards).
It is also a joy to know that there are others (mainly in the west) that embraces personality types to take them seriously without being too hard on themselves or others (those interviewees in the book). The individuation process (or individuation process) is a journey that keeps us traveling traveling with only one destination, that is to welcome the spiritual when our time is up.
The different stages of life, though similar and different for everyone allow the magic of the individuation process and the mystery of life to unfold and surprise us. It also provides the relevant meaning and joys to everyone of us who finds the process and journey meaningful and worthwhile.
The best part of it is we know we own our lives and most of us who know do no not owe any person the opportunity to live, seize the day and make the most out of our limited lifespan.
