Before reading “Llewellyn’s Guide to Psychic Powers” by Donald Michael Kraig, I admit that, based on the title, that I had some preconceived ideas about the book’s content. Namely, I thought it was just going to be a cursory description of psychics, mediums, and etc. Instead, this slim book offers much more.
At the beginning, Kraig states that,
“…It is the purpose of this book to show you what is and is not possible. This, hopefully, will allow you a wiser choice when you go to see a psychic or hear about some unusual phenomenon. It will also help keep you from being cheated…”
In addition to the text, the author provides oodles and oodles of resources (lists of books) and encourages people to continue reading on their own. I really admire this book and the author. Kraig provides common sense information, as well as information for many people who, although they may have plenty of common sense, may not know because they’ve never been exposed to certain situations before.
The one thing that PO’s me the most is psychic fraud. I was born psychic and not once in my life have I ever charged someone money for any information I passed on to them. I’m not wealthy. In fact, I have very little money, and sometimes none at all. But not having any money doesn’t give someone the right to sell critical information that could save a life or enable justice to be served (e.g., rapes, murders, drug smuggling, and etc). I know many people may not agree with me. Some might even argue that they should be compensated for their time. But to me, it’s all blood money.
Kraig did an excellent job of educating the public by writing this book. It’s an easy read and I encourage everyone to get their own copy.
