This book remind me of the captions you see at the zoo on those tables set up in front of the cages! A factor I noticed and really like about this book is how all the illustrations are darker, how I imagine the lighting would be in the rainforest with the shade from the trees. It makes the book seem a lot more realistic. I love how the author saved most of the page for illustration while still giving a good amount of information on each page. I rated it low just because the text wasn't super engaging to me but I still appreciate the beautiful factors of it.

A lovely children's book with great art. The book starts with the top of the rainforest and each page segues naturally to the next by having an animal or plant connect to the next picture. I thought that was nice. I also liked the pictures of some important plants and animals that were pulled out so that readers know what they should be looking for in the bigger picture.
