Claire King is known and loved by millions for her portrayals of TV diva Kim Tate in Emmerdale and in the award-winning Bad Girls . She has managed to keep her private life out of the press, until she decided to reveal all in her own words. Claire tells the amazing story of her life—from behind-the-scenes gossip from the nation's favorite TV shows, to her string of romances with high-profile names from all walks of life. She also tells of her heartbreak when her husband and Emmerdale costar left her for another cast member. As raunchy as it is revealing, this book leaves no stone unturned to reveal a fascinating and remarkable woman.
I found myself apologizing for the book cover when reading because it plus the title, made it look unbearably trashy. Ha. I only know Claire King from my favourite television series Bad Girls. I was hoping for more anecdotes from that show, but there weren't any at all, really. (The title refers to a childhood anecdote.) Regardless, I enjoyed reading about Claire's life. She is honest about events and people in her life, but comes off as a kind person and someone I could have a lovely chat with over a cup of tea or summat.
The past three years I've found myself reading the memoir of a British celebrity around the holidays. I guess that means it's a tradition now?
I've always liked Claire as an actress, especially in her role as Karen Betts on Bad Girls. I couldn't wait to read her autobiography when it came out. Unsurprisingly Claire is nothing like the role that made her well-known (Kim Tate in Emmerdale), however she was a bit of a wild-child. She's had an interesting life, and that makes good reading. I also liked the fact that she is very honest about her break-up with fellow actor Chris Amory. I liked her even more after reading this book.
