Riponevo molte (forse troppe) aspettative in questo romanzo. Un testo che mi aveva catturata per il suo esplicito riferimento alla rivoluzione contro il governo zarista e che non giunge aimé ad approfondirne il quadro scarnamente tratteggiato. Non so cosa mi aspettassi da un prodotto di appena 90 pagine. Mea culpa.

Lev Tolstoj è un genio indiscusso della letteratura, ma questo breve scritto non mi ha lasciato molto. Ho ritrovato idee riprese da “La morte di Ivan Il’ič”.
