A lovely collection of old fairytales I found on gutenberg.org, that has beautiful engravings as well as interesting stories.
I particularly enjoyed "Rocking horse land", "The luck of the roses" and "A chinese fairytale". Some others weren't my cup of tea, but because each tale is quite short it was never so much of a bother that I didn't finish one.

There were some fun short stories in this little book I found on the website, Project Gutenberg. I think I liked the Chinese story the best. There were a lot of prince and princess stories. Some of those seemed a little repetitive.
