I discovered this book at a library book sale and reread it every year. It is hilarious and adorable, with a wry satiric take on life in the rat race. The references are a little dated, as it comes from office life about fifty years when middle class households had one car and one breadwinner, but the ranty feelings are as fresh and funny as ever.

While the logistics of life in the 1950s are different today, the general experience of commuting is very similar. I'm getting to be a bigger ES fan with every book I read.

Short late 30s era vintage humor, in that wonderful Streeter voice, about city commuting. Very quick read, more a "smile" book than a barrage of non-stop laughs. Of its time, but some things never change.
