Carlos Amorales is a Mexican artist whose work in the media of photographs, videos, installations, and performance draws on the theatrical world of professional wrestling in Mexico, where the fighters assume fictional characters and are popular heroes. Amorales takes part in this world by creating his own alter a wrestler that fights under the name Amorales and wears a mask designed by the artist. The result is a fascinating, multi-layered game of changing identities, and a constant shifting of reality and fiction.
