Read this 1989 Edition around that time. It revealed a lot about the Peoples Republic of Berzerkeley. I learned about many splendored people, places, things, and political movements, including the Free Speech Movement, Cody's and Moe's Books, Peets Coffee, and where Patty Hearst used to live on Benvenue Street before she became part of the Symbionese Liberation Army, and many other facts about Berkeley and the East Bay. Since it review restaurants, people and politics, it is probably quite out of date now, since the author lives in Alaska now. But the historical facts are interesting, and so the whole book is kind of a time capsule for when it was written.
