A series of meditations leading into practical exercises in affirming the presence of God through prayer. These meditations are based on the eternal certainties of the Christian faith, as acclaimed in the translation of the hymn of St Patrick known as "The Deer's Cry".
From the very beginning, the words jumped off the page and penetrated my heart, soul, and mind. “Here is somebody who gets me,” I thought to myself. David Adam's exposition of the Celtic people who lived centuries ago shows how they invoked God's presence in everyday life and sets the example of how we, too, can experience God's presence. A treat for anyone who experiences God through nature.
I pray the prayer - St. Patrick’s Breastplate - every day and this is an excellent extended meditation on it. I have read the book before and will certainly do so again. It is worth 5* for the end of chapter exercises alone.
