Coveted certainly brings the drama. This story is filled with just about every drama ingredient there is: philandering husbands, backstabbing friends, dangerously envious family members, and a few doses of violent behavior. This is a read sure to please lovers of urban drama.

Naima is a hard-working mother of two lovely children, and married to the well-known ex-NFL superstar Quarterback Kaden Fairchild. Although the two became parents in their teenage years, they have managed to become successful in their careers even after Kaden’s upsetting injury. It is no surprise to hear about professional athletes cheating on their spouses, but Naima was distraught after learning Kaden had not only carried on an affair with her best friend, Haven, since their college years; but, he also fathered her child, Naima’s god-son, Kaven. Determined to move on with her life and make the best of it, Naima leaves Kaden and makes, what she thought to be, a pretty successful attempt at a new path in life. After moving back into her parents’ house, their world is suddenly shaken by the appearance of Emeri; a product of her own Father’s love affair from years before. Emeri, with no where else to turn after her Mother’s death, sought to find the Father she never knew; her Mother’s last wish before passing away. Naima welcomes the handsome distraction of Damir, but is left confused after his sudden distancing. Little did she know, the reason why resided in the same house as she. It seems as if everyone wanted the life and love that Naima had, and was willing to acquire it by any means necessary.

Coveted shows the danger of obsession and envy, and the power of forgiveness and authentic love. I was amazed at how well the storyline was delivered. There were several noteworthy characters, and they were all dexterously linked. A few editing issues did not distract me from experiencing a smooth read. The twists definitely kept my attention and the pages turning. In conclusion, this was a good read and the ending left me wanting to know more of what happened next!

COVETED by Mychea

Keep your friends close because they can become your worst enemy.

Namia has everything that any woman can ask for: money, clothes, cars, and two beautiful kids. She has everything but the true love of her husband. Because her husband cannot be faithful, she feels she has to seek love elsewhere. Will she rethink her decision or will she be forced in the hands of another?

Kaden is the husband of Naima. This sexy NFL star feels that he is God’s gift and can have anything or anyone he wants. He is cheating with someone that is a little too close to home. When Kaden is caught will he and this mystery person receive the forgiveness that they need and want?

Amber and Damir have been in a rollercoaster relationship for quite some time. Damir is at a point where he wants to let it all go and find true love. Amber has invested a lot of time into Damir and will not let him go without a good fight. A huge change is in store for this couple. Will this change force Damir to rethink his decision or will Amber lose the love of her life?

Will any of these relationships work out despite all the problems that are around? Who is Emeri and what does she have to do with everyone?

Covented is drama from the first page. To be a debut novel, the storyline, details, and interaction of the characters are on the level of a seasoned, certain, author. At times, you will get confused but the author makes sure that the reader understands the relationships and all the connections of the character. Mychea also is very talented to keep the readers wondering about the next action.

All of Their Lives Were a Mess!

Mychea's novel, "Coveted," follows the lives of five people. We are first introduced to Naima, a wife and mother who is ready to leave her superstar husband because of his cheating ways. That husband is Kaden who because of his own insecurities, ends up hurting the woman that he loves. In between husband and wife is Haven, the wife's bff and the husband's side piece. Add a dash of Amber and Damir who are just breaking up when Amber reveals a startling secret. A few other characters are in the mix and play significant roles in the story. Naima's parents have always been an anchor in her life. However, that picture is tainted when her father's past comes back to haunt him. Also, a new family member is introduced and things in Naima's life really take a turn for the worse.

"Coveted" is about the past and the present. It is about forgiveness and regrets. It is about love and obsession. Most importantly, though, it serves as a lesson to the reader that sometimes things look good from the outside but there is no such thing as a fairytale life.

I enjoyed reading this novel. There were a few editing errors near the middle and end of the book, but they did not distract me very much. I kept reading because I wanted to know what would happen to the characters, when secrets would be revealed and what reaction would come. The novel ends with the promise of a sequel as there are quite a few questions that are still unanswered. I look forward to reading that sequel.

Nice the storyline kept me reading more and more. Naima's life wasnt' want everyone thought it was cracked up to be she struggled with her husband Kaden that she found has been cheating on him way to long. Dealing with her best friend that betrayed her to trying to be a mom and own her own business.

Naima decide to let her husband go to start over over. While starting over Kaden her husband works to get her back. New man Damir comes into her life that she was feeling but has his ex on his butt. Naima finds that there is a long lost secret she finds out that turns heads and causes more drama in her world.

Great book over all will be reading part 2. Nice. :)

Great story line

Refreshing, best book I've read this year. This was my first from this author but it won't be my last. The author did a great job building the characters and their storylines. I loved how everyone intertwined with each other. I can't wait to see how this turns out. So much drama I had to take a break to calm myself down from yelling at the characters. On to book two

This book really, really, REALLY needs to be edited. There are so many errors it was starting to get very annoying. The story was interesting and that's the only reason I was able to finish it. Unfortunately the ending left a lot of unanswered questions so I'm tempted to read the sequel *sigh*

NFL trophy wife, Naima marries her high school sweetheart, Kaden against her families wishes due to a teen pregnancy. As time goes on Naima learns those around here covet the life she has. She is shattered when she learns her best friend Haven been holding a secret for years that blows her world apart. Little do she know Haven secretly wants the life she has, along with a list of characters who come on the scene, especially the mysterious and conniving Emeri.

When the couple separate after past truths are revealed, Kaden is on a mission to get his family back, meanwhile the sexy Damir has captured Naima undivided attention. He is a pleasant distraction to her marital problems despite the fact he is harboring secrets as troubling as Kaden. Naima soon learns that those she trust are not what they seem and she has to make life changes in order to keep her sanity. The story is filled with high drama, sex, lies and all the page turning ingredients to make a steamy novel. I read it in a day. This was the author’s debut novel and it captures the readers attention. The only issue was at the end when a few sentences ran together. At first one would believe it was the character’s dialogue but it was too excessive and I blame this on the editor. The story format was great and I enthralling.

What did you like about the book?
The drama was flowing and kept me turning the pages to see what was up with the characters and how things would end.

What did you dislike about the book?
The editor didn’t catch the run on sentences at the end which became distracting to a well put together story.

What could the author do to improve the book?
The story was great, but double check behind this editor.

This book was a little all over the place for me and at times really unbelievable. I know that the world is very small in urban fiction books but the world had to be the size of a pea in this book. It wasnt bad for the author's first book and I understand that she intended for it to be dramatic. It was just a little all over the place for my tastes, and there were characters in the book that just didnt have much depth.
