Jack Hill was a knowledgeable, caring-sharing kind of bloke who loved working with wood. He was one of the worlds natural teachers. Here is one artisan I would like to have worked with and learnt from. He taught at Manchester University and West Dean College. Later he taught wood carving and chairmaking at a community college in Bognor Regis. Even when he had to give up teaching, he attended most of the classes daily (as a visitor). He died in 2009. I treasure his books.
