If more youth leaders (and churches) read this and put it to work, American Christianity would be in a much better place.

If you work with youth in the church or you wish you understood better what successful youth ministry looks like, this book is a good one. Several church communities are explored through a thorough ethnography of each place. This book gives some overarching guidelines but mostly just reports what they observed - rather than giving huge lists of to-do's in youth ministry.

An important word to the church -- you can be an obstacle or you can be a nurturer of gifts and callings of young people called to ministry.
