This is an excellent tool for understanding the Deity of Jesus. We are commanded to know scripture so that we can defend God and defend His truth (2Tim.2:15, 1Pet.3:15, Jude 3, among others)and this book will help prepare you to do just that. Many Christians know what they believe, recognize error, but need training in how to correct and teach. The JWs (aka Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, Kingdom Hall) have a corrupt translation of the Bible called the New World Translation. They also have a faulty Greek translation called the Kingdom Interlinear Translation (KIT). Though these are both filled with error, there is enough truth left in them to share the Gospel with them from their own books.

This book walks you through the error in translation they have for John 1:1 as well as John 8:58. They changed these verses to eliminate the Deity of Jesus as they teach that Jesus was an angel. John 2:19-21 is also a passage you should know as the JWs believe in a spiritual resurrection, not a physical resurrection. In verse 21, John uses the word Soma which can only be translated body, not spirit. They have the Greek correct in their KIT, but the English is wrong.

Whether or not you do cult evangelism or have JWs knock on your door frequently as I used to, I highly recommend this book to get grounded in this vital doctrine of the Deity of our Jesus. If you are looking for other resources to share the Gospel with JWs, I have several on my shelf called Apologetics-Cults. This is one book that I will keep for reference and probably read again.
