Their flames of passion burn too strong, until an accident gives him amnesia. Can they learn to be better lovers, or will the truth of their rocky start ruin it all?
Draco Hill is a confirmed bachelor dragon shifter, who never planned on meeting his fated mate. As a local celebrity, he’s used to overly-adoring fans trying to wiggle their way closer to him. When he finds a sleeping beauty in his dressing room he assumes it’s one of them. But from the first moment he touches Sydney, he knows his life will never be the same. She’s his mate. Sydney Andrews teaches art and music to high schoolers, and never dreamed she’d end up as a groupie to the city’s hottest club DJ. At least, that’s what she’s accused of being when the sexy dragon refuses to believe that she was only in his dressing room by accident.
Their attraction simmers from the moment they met, but the road to happily ever after isn’t smooth. When a near-fatal accident threatens everything either of them have ever wanted it’s time to fight with flames.
Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
Drago is a dragon shifter DJ and he has a popular following in the club which is packed tonight. Someone spills a drink on his shirt so he goes to his dressing room where he keeps all his instruments because it seems he is a true musician and he enjoys the time he spends doing what he loves and has no plans to change his lifestyle until he reaches his room and there is a young woman laying on the sofa asleep he is disturbed that he may have left the door unlocked or she broke in since this area is off limits. When he gets close he realizes something that will change both their lives but he is trying hard to ignore the emotions. Sydney came into the room to lay down for a few minutes she had too much to drink and felt dizzy she goes to sleep. When she awakes she is shocked a man is sitting close to her. Something violent takes place. The storyline keeps you turning the pages, the characters keep you wanting to know more. I read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
Second book of the series but can be read as a stand-alone. Draco is a dragon shifter and loves his bachelorhood. Being a DJ and music is what he loves. Finding his fated mate is not what he wants. Sydney loves having a night out with her friends. Through twists and turns the two meet and it is not love at first sight. The tension and heat from these two sky rockets. Communication is definitely a problem and leads to so many more. The heat in the book definitely doesn’t start off as romance but when fate pushes things definitely change.
This second installment of the Midnight Mates was so enjoyable and very captivating! I loved Sydney and Draco! These two definitely had a rocky start but very hot also! They had a connection right from the start but Draco had some issues he needed to get over and definitely didn’t make a great impression on Sydney. He gets into an accident that changes a lot of things for them both. Milly did an outstanding job bringing all the feels into this story! These two just pulled at my heart! A very sweet story and amazing characters! I really enjoy the uniqueness of the mating / challenge in this series! Absolutely loved it! The twists and turns in this one are off the charts, a must read.
This is a book for all the paranormal romance and music lovers out there. Not only do they struggle with the thought of any type of relationship but then end up thrown together due to Drago's amnesia. His instincts tell him they have been together along time, but the evidence says otherwise. While Sydney is struggling with guilt and plays along as his friends have asked. I did receive this book as an ARC, but this is my honest review.
The second in the series, was just as good as the first. Draco and Sydney had a very rocky start. You could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. It was communication that they lacked. A life altering accident changes things for both of them. With patience and determination, along with love, these two just might find their HEA. The secondary characters were pretty great too. I can't wait to see who's up next. This is my honest opinion of an advanced copy I received.
This was an enjoyable read and it kept me captivated to the end. This is the second book in this series and it has continued the great start. My only concern was there was something referenced about a main characters past that was never explained or resolved. In my opinion this left a gap in the story line.
This was a great story of Draco and Sydney once he got his head out of his butt. They both had a rocky start even though they were mates. He is the DJ at Midnight Mates and he and his brothers own the club. This is just as good as the first book.
Not sure why the author chose to hint at a tragic backstory for the male lead and then not explain *any* of it, but it left me feeling like the story just wasn't completely fleshed out. Otherwise it's a decent read, it's only real flaw being that it hints at a backstory but never delivers.
Flames of Dawn (Midnight Mates Book 2) by Milly Taiden. When Draco found Sydney asleep in his private room at the club he knew she was is mate but both of them had problems from their past to overcome. A serious accident and Draco loosing his memory helped overcome those problems.
4.5 Stars This second installment of the Midnight Mates series was well written and kept me entertained with that classic writing style of Milly Taiden. I found the characters to be endearing and attention grabbing.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I love Milly Taiden's paranormal books, but this new series of shifters it seems like they have no clue how to be around their mate. Their parents never taught them? It was just hard to get into a bit after being accustomed to Milly's other books, that's all.
The club, Midnight Mates, is still going hot and heavy. Another strange occurrence finds one of the girls in a strange predicament … read to find out what! 💜💜
So much going on here that I couldn’t put it down. A hot disc jockey and a dragon shifter what a fantastic combination. Love this second book in this series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review
Tempers can get the best of you but being fated mates could make it worse or better. Fighting the pull could cause trouble. Was a really goid book to read
Draco and Sidney are a fantastic couple. Once again another must-read by the author. Can't wait for the next book. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
Big question for me: what happened in his past? He commented several times that this was a new life and I wanted to know from what he was running from.
This is a second book📚 from Milly that I have read outside of her PDA series. This was a little different than what I am use to reading from her. It was a good read.
