Things like writing, reading, getting tattooed, listening to alternative/goth/metal/80s music, going to gigs, love anything to do with aviation, into history, am pagan and just me. My interests influence my writing. I'm English. Secondary school/college education. Done varied day jobs. Seen many things in life. Maybe too much. It makes good poems/story scenes.
Started writing in April 1996. Did poetry on many topics. First published in November 96 in The Pill, Alanis Morrissette fanzine. Then published in the poetry scene/'small press' ever since, in books, online, magazines and more. Started writing stories in the late 90s/early 00s. Got into self publishing after hiring a professional editor to do my first 4 books from 2006 onwards. Then started doing my own books up till now, 2015. Have many varied books out under two names: Nick Armbrister and Jimmy Boom Semtex. Topics are as diverse as aircraft, karate, erotica, ships and much more in both poetry and fiction. Worked with publishers and varied musicians over the years and have done many open mic sets. Prefer real books rather than ebooks. But write both.
Author collaborations include with Andy N, Mel Grobler and PJ Reed on joint books/projects. Nick has a new dark poetry collection out called Dark Delectable Delicious Destructive.
Started writing as Jimmy Boom Semtex in 2012. Writing includes erotica, war, aircraft and contemporary. New poem book being worked on now called Picnic. Jimmy is working on new writing projects.

Hi, my name is Nick Armbrister. I'm from Manchester, England. I've been writing since April 1996 and published since Nov 96. Very much part of the late 90s 'small press' writing scene, published in mags, 'zines, anthologies and later in the 00s, online and in my own books. I've worked for an American publisher before but left due to editing issues. Self published a hundred books under Nick Armbrister and my pen name Jimmy Boom Semtex. My variety of work is huge. I've written with a wide variety of poets/authors. Love to be creative, like hiking and high ground and also love tattoos and aeroplanes. My books are on the usual sites though my Jimmy Boom Semtex books are banned on Apple/iBooks/iTunes due to adult erotic content. Get those in rival sites like Amazon.
